Korres Pomegranate Balancing Gel Moisturizer

I have used up this jar some time ago. Not sure why I haven't mentioned it yet... probably because I didn't find it remarkable.

Overall Korres brand simply sounds good, and I'm always tempted by their products. The list of ingredients that their products don't contain sways me everytime. I like what I read and so I was easily convinced by the claims of this cream, mainly "provides a matte finish and pore-minimizing properties while leaving skin soft, hydrated, and balanced" (that's from Sephora online).

They key ingredients in Korres' mattifying range is pomegranate, and it supposedly minimizes pores, reduces any redness, and provides balance to skin. Maybe, maybe not... for me it's the not. I might be too old for this product, I am thinking it might be more suitable for someone with teenage skin type.

This cream felt comfortable on my face, and I enjoyed it while I had it (no breakouts), smooth texture, pleasant smell, but I don't plan to re-stock.

As I write this, it has 295 reviews and 4/5 stars on Sephora online; so plenty of fans... I am not one... but you might be.

Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Dusty Pink

Here is a lovely treasure, that I've had for a few months; a lip pencil aka art stick from Bobbi Brown in the only shade that had my name on it Dusty Pink. Which is not hard to guess is a pretty, soft, easy to wear neutral pink.

The pencil is massive (even if it doesn't look it in my shot), and it comes with an appropriately massive sharpener (not shown).
The near perfect rating on Sephora says it all...  non-feathering, long wearing, smooth, comfortable, pigmented, creamy... and expensive ($32 CAD), which I don't regret spending.
This is my purse go to... always flattering, never out of place... a Bobbi Brown winner for sure :)

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil - Freak

I've been into colorful eyeliners (as well as mascaras) this summer. On a random visit to Sephora  I swatched this pencil on my arm and... well you know the rest.  I have a couple of pencils already from UD: Ransom (purple) and Graffiti (green). So initially when I got this home, I had a tiny panic attack thinking I bought the same thing twice. But have no fear... Freak is totally different from Graffiti... and I've swatched them both so that you can see the difference.
Freak (on the left) is a punchy smooth green shimmer. Graffiti (right) is also a bright green, but with chunky silver sparkle. I couldn't find Graffiti at Sephora online... so maybe it's no longer part of the lineup. Having both side by side, I do prefer Freak more... simply for the smoothness.
Love these... now I want UD to come out with the perfect periwinkle blue that's in my head :)

Benefit They're Real Mascara - Beyond Blue

My latest obsession in colored mascara. Having seen Beyond Blue from Benefit online, I got a tube for myself. It's a colored version of their They're Real formulation.
Now I had a mini sample tube of They're Real mascara in regular black and I disliked it very much. Not the formulation (that's fine), but the brush... it just prickled my eye and I found it quite unpleasant to use. So the brush in the blue version is the same, it prickles, and I find it quite annoying... but I love the color so much, that I don't regret this purchase... and I trade it a few minutes of unpleasantness for gorgeous lashes.
It is a bright vibrant blue, that totally pops. This will make your lashes beyond blue :), lasts all day, no smudging, no flaking.
If you love colored mascara, and don't mind plastic poky brushes give this a try. I'm expanding my range and so far acquired a couple of purple ones from Dior and Clinique... but the Lancome and Sephora blues are on my radar as well.

BBG - week 12

Monday - Legs
And I'm in my last week... who would have thought that I'd actually last that long? :) It was all about legs today, including double gym benches and a step... as any other day I did without, and still sweated my ass off.

I have a pain in my left foot and my right knee, so I was extra careful with squats and jumps. At the end of my 30min felt good and not hurt.

Tuesday: LISS (low intensity steady state)
The usual walk (aka stroll) home.

Wednesday: Arms
Once again I put in some extra time at the office... and once I got home I just wanted some dinner and Big Brother :)

Thursday: Wednesday's Arms
Four out of the eight moves are a form of push-ups... ouch :) Of course this being the last Arm workout of the 12 week program, Kayla makes use of double benches and a bosu ball. I'm contemplating a bosu purchase... but while I live in my tiny condo I will not contemplate a gym bench purchase... or maybe I should just take my ass down to the complex gym... but then I'd wouldn't be able to work out in my panties :)

Friday: Abs
Abs were replaced by a glass of wine.

Saturday
I planned to work out... then didn't.

Sunday
Spent a day at the island with two very energetic munchkins... that's a workout in itself.

Monday
Completed my Kayla program in the morning. I do love working my abs... even it I have nothing to show for it yet; and I had all the equipment needed as well.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

And that is that, I have completed Kayla's 12 week program... I do not have a before and after pictures for you, because there is not much difference (Instagram success story I am not). However neither am I ready to throw in the towel and quit. Maybe working out 8 times a week wasn't the road the success I imagined.

I'm modifying my routine yet again... and switching to working out 5 times a week in the morning only (Mon to Fri)... unless I am sick of course. I plan to do 30 min of Tracy's dance cardio, and then on Mon, Wed, Fri follow up with Kayla, and on Tues and Thurs with Tracy's toning routine.

I also promise to pay closer attention to my diet :)

I'll keep you updated of my progress in another 12 weeks or so :)

In the end I leave you with this Kayla thought "I don't work out because I hate my body, I workout because I love it"... it's why I'm up at 4:30am each morning :)

Sephora you got me again...

Our relationship hasn't been the greatest since you changed your website for Canadian residents. It was done in such a sneaky way on your part too, no warning, and no explanation... for shame...

So many brands I wanted to try are no longer available for purchase through you... what a disappointment...

But I'm a beauty junkie, and even though I want to ignore you, you piqued my interest with this offer.

However, I kept my order small... and that is all your fault... stuff I want, you no longer want to ship.

I do hope your shipping standards remained the same... I guess I'll find out in a few days... and then maybe reevaluate our relationship. It won't be the way we were, I shop around for my beauty more now... but I'll probably remain a VIB Rouge member for another year.

Dr. Jart+ Oil Balm

This is my night time hand cream. I slather it on, I slap a pair of gloves over it, and I hit the pillow. With Sephora shipping changes it is no longer available to Canadian online shoppers, but I hope Sephora will eventually go back to the good old ways.
This balm is a solid in a glass jar. I scrape the back of my nail across the surface and get the amount I need. The minute this hits your skin it dissolves into the most lovely greasy moisturizer (I know it says "non-greasy" on the box... but trust me at first this is liquid oil). I put a pair of gloves on after I work this into my hands, so I don't know how quickly this absorbs. But I do know that in the morning my skin is soft and smooth.

The scent is fresh and zesty, and not overpowering. This can be used head to toe (hair, skin, nails)... I'm making this jar last as long as possible by only using this on my hands.
I had plans for many future repurchases... but it is not to be. Once this jar runs dry (I'm more than half way through), I will be on the hunt for something new.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop (Jaclyn Hill Colab)

Yup I stalked Sephora online on the day of the release to get mine (there were some issues with the Canadian version) but I persevered.  I don't wear highlight, and I do have a few in my collection... yet I couldn't let this pass me by.  Also until this arrived in the mail I did not own a Becca product.

If you are even minimally interested in makeup, you've probably heard about the collaboration between Becca and Jaclyn Hill (YouTube beauty superstar); and the creation of Champagne Pop shimmering skin perfector. Becca did not change the packaging (other than the box it came in), it did not change the formula of the product; Jaclyn just created the color... and I wanted it.

The box is textured to resemble champagne bubbles I say... my husband thought it was water damage... ummmm so there is that.
On the back, the lovely Jaclyn.
Standard Becca spaceship packaging.
Inside loveliness. I don't know why I thought this was cream... I just don't know... It's not, this is the softest, smoothest powder ever.
Color described as "soft white gold w/ pinky peach undertones" is shimmering perfection. Extremely concentrated, I barely touch my brush to the compact. So far I've only used it on the inner corners of my eyes and brow bone... but I'm working myself up to a bit more...

As far as I know this has sold out everywhere in record time. Becca just needs to make this permanent... it's too beautiful to be limited edition.

BBG - week 11

Monday - Legs
What?! It's week 11 already! It sure is... and the workout doesn't get any easier.

Today legs, which means squats and more squats; and of course gym tools are required that I don't own. Step replaced with imaginary step, medicine ball replaced with a 15lb dumbbell, and two gym benches ignored all together.

I'm realizing that my first round of BBG is almost over. Next week I'll contemplate investing in a step for my second attempt at the first 12 weeks... since I plan on sticking with this workout for a little while.

Tuesday: LISS (low intensity steady state)
The usual walk.

Wednesday: Arms
Extra long day at work means no energy for a workout... even if it's only 28 minutes.

Thursday: Wednesday's Arms
The routine might be labeled "Arms" but honestly it should be Arms & Legs; because there are 8 moves in total and half of them involved leg work (2 squat moves, 2 types of burpees). Once again no double benches and no bosu ball... as well decline push ups are not my thing; I will master regular ones first.

Friday: Abs
Abs were replaced by an evening at the AGO... it was a members only evening; and it was nice.

Saturday
I planned to work out... but I slept in. Only had 5min to get ready for the market with my sister... home to tidy up... shower... and get ready for a visit with my parents. It was a great day... plan to catch up with Kayla on Sunday :)

Sunday: Friday's Abs.
I want the instagram abs :) The BBG before and after shots are so motivating when you're in the first week of the program... I'm at the end of week 11, and I'm wondering where I went wrong with mine... I think I need at least another 24 weeks :)
